After a few months away, Loving Latin America returns - and on a momentous day of 2010 - the opening of the World Cup.

We will be following all the Latin American teams as they aim to be crowned champions.

Argentine Director Wins Oscar!

Congratulations to Juan Jose Campanella for winning the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards last night. The Argentine crime drama stars Ricardo Darín, Soledad Villamil, Javier Godino, Guillermo Francella and Pablo Rago.



Credit should also go to Peruvian director Claudia Llosa, director of The Milk of Sorrow, which was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. The film stars Magaly Solier and addresses the fears of abused women during Peru's recent history.

The collaborative project known as the Mexican Institute of Sound are famous for taking old folk songs from the mid-20th Century and fusing them with modern alternative rock and DJing.

Fantasy Football Update - February 2010

February has seen a lot of movement in the LLA Fantasy Football League. However, the top two teams remain the same and are pulling away from the chasing pack. New entries have pushed into the top ten and with a few months left in the season there is a lot of pride to play for. Sam's Hammertime sit top of the league with Carol's Alianza Lima in second place.
